When we build your custom home in Mississauga, we centre everything around you. As your design-build partner, Avvio Fine Homes brings design, construction, energy performance, scheduling, and cost planning together under one coordinated process.

We begin with a focused discovery conversation to understand your goals, property, budget, timeline, and vision for the home. This is where we answer initial questions, discuss feasibility, and provide preliminary guidance on the design-build process, energy performance, materials, and next steps.

We assess your site to identify opportunities, constraints, and potential challenges. Then we present a practical path forward that aligns your lifestyle, design goals, budget, and performance expectations.

Work with us to develop your dream floor plan and exterior. Don’t worry if you’re still deciding; we bring expert advice and experience-based recommendations. At this stage, we’ll also start discussing finishes.

Using energy modelling and qualified third-party advisors, Avvio optimizes your design for Net Zero or ENERGY STAR certification while finalizing architectural, structural, HVAC, solar, and permit-ready details.

With the design finalized, we coordinate the required permit applications and documentation from the City of Mississauga and complete a survey of the site. This may include zoning review, building permits, arborist reports, conservation requirements, engineering, surveys, and other municipal approvals.

Next, we’ll help you choose your interior finishing materials, appliances, and colours. Our interior designer and Selection System make this process far more straightforward and easy to understand.

We disconnect the utilities and take action where highlighted by the survey (for example, removing tree roots). Then, you sign the Building Agreement, and construction begins!

We begin with demolition if required, then complete foundations, framing, roofing, insulation, cladding, and windows. Inside, we rough-in plumbing, ductwork, and electrical, followed by the finishes. Finally, we landscape the yard and perform a blower test.

The fact that our service to identify harmful substances in old homes is used every time by Avvio so that the substances can be removed correctly is proof that they are aware of environmental laws and care about the community and their workers. Some others try to get away with not doing this to save money in time putting those exposed to them during the demolition and removal process at risk. Also, their project schedules are realistic, and they are easy to work with so I can definitely recommend them.
